Downtown Brooklyn is a magical place in December. Our local art scene comes alive with creativity and the celebration of diverse holiday traditions. Festive performances abound, holiday markets pop up, and events – from family craft days to thought-provoking performances and exhibitions – proliferate across our neighborhoods. For those who need a break from the bustle of the season, the arts have got you covered there too!
Our December Arts Month Edition features over 100 unique arts offerings presented by the 60+ nonprofit member organizations in the Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance. Offerings range from the joyous to the contemplative, and reflect the many ways the arts ground us in our humanity while knitting us together as a community.
As the year draws to a close, we invite you to celebrate the season, spend time with the arts, and consider supporting our local artists and arts organizations with an end-of-year gift. Your generosity helps ensure that creativity continues to thrive in Downtown Brooklyn for everyone.
Arts Month is supported, in part, by New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Additional funding is provided by NYU and Two Trees Management, Co.

Downtown Brooklyn Arts Alliance (DBAA) is a grassroots membership organization bringing together local arts and cultural organizations to strengthen cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural relationships and organize collaborative initiatives that increase participation and support for the arts locally and beyond. DBAA Membership is open to non-profit organizations with a primary focus on arts or culture located in Downtown Brooklyn and adjacent neighborhoods.
Collectively, DBAA member organizations serve over 5 million people each year, employ nearly 4,000 workers, and generate over $200 million in annual economic impact.
